Workshop: An Introduction to Content Marketing

  • NODE Hub, CD101, Enterprise Centre Lord Mayor's Walk York, England, YO31 7EX United Kingdom (map)

As creatives we find ourselves split between two opposing mindsets; we see the value of the creative economy and how it continues to grow, yet we’re also faced with the stereotype of ‘the starving artist’ and expected to struggle for years before we’re able to make a comfortable living from our skills.

But what if there was an easier way?

What if we could get paid for our creativity in the next few weeks, and from there begin a journey that allows us to collaborate with some of our favourite brands?

Liv Surtees is a copywriter and content strategist with 6+ years of self-employed experience in the industry.

Starting out in Bali without a portfolio, Liv has grown and worked with an array of brands and businesses, from B2B SaaS companies and photographic studios to wellness brands and magazines.

Having recently founded Step Out, a copy and content agency, Liv aims to not only support her clients and work collaboratively with other creatives, but also support the younger generation of creatives coming into the industry.

In this talk she will cover:

• What content marketing is
• How to get started in the industry
• Key sills you'll need
• How to move up the value chain
• Useful tools and resources

The workshop will begin at 6pm, so please arrive between 5.45 and 5.55pm.
